ABOUT FALLS AND BONE HEALTH

This is a comprehensive interactive falls education program appealing to all those staff with a special interest in falls prevention. As part of a wider Falls Education Program in Dorset , this lends itself nicely to encourage practitioners both in NHS and Social Care and Health Services to participate at a professional level. Even unqualified staff have embraced it and gained up to 66% in the assessment. The "e-learning approach" is certainly the way forward as (more and more) we are not freed up to attend other forms of training. The facility to print up-to-date material has great advantages as the resource is then at hand for day-to- day use. "I use the program myself as well as to train house officers. This is a very positive and different way of learning which reinforces my current knowledge. There's more information in the training program than you would receive by attending a conference or a lecture and the disk provides valuable reference material. The video clips are very useful: my students particularly like the clear demonstration of the Romberg test. Interactive learning is really enjoyable.
