"There were 21 members of our team present, including practice nurses, district nurses, health visitors, receptionists and GPs... It was good to see an evidence-based educational resource... Everyone agreed they would like to see more CD Roms. We plan that the CD Rom will be placed in the Practice Library but that we will also timetable its use within future protected time sessions."

"FALLS AND BONE HEALTH is a valuable tool in understanding falls assessment. You can see gait problems and get a real idea of what is normal and what is abnormal. It's a very useful teaching program." Jo Edwards, Senior Physiotherapist, Falls Clinic, Hereford Hospitals NHS Trust, |

"I use the program myself as well as to train house officers. This is a very positive and different way of learning which reinforces my current knowledge. There's more information in the training program than you would receive by attending a conference or a lecture and the disk provides valuable reference material. The video clips are very useful: my students particularly like the clear demonstration of the Romberg test. Interactive learning is really enjoyable. It's fun to do and kept my interest for several hours. I don't think a textbook would have kept me so alert for such a long period."
Dr. Emma Wales, Consultant Physician in Geriatric Medicine, Hereford Hospitals NHS Trust, (National Health Service UK). |

"It's not only fun to use but based on sound educational
principles. People learn differently. Some prefer reading, some like to learn from others, some need to see and hear directly. These programs offer the teaching material in different forms, making it more accessible to everyone. In this hospital we are evolving a strategy to train specialist registrars who are seldom in the building all at the same time because of shift work. They need to build up individual portfolios of projects and tasks. These programs are invaluable because training programs on CD enable the trainees to study anytime it is convenient to them."
Dr Kit Byatt, Consultant Physician, Hereford Hospitals NHS Trust, (National Health Service UK). |
